The ways to help others in the best way

Sesor is a non-profit organisation which has been providing sustainable relief to internally displaced persons and refugees through basic relief services, livelihood and educational support in Nigeria since 2010. Sesor is a pioneer in the field, having impacted over 60,000 displaced persons across Nigeria through various relief outreaches, and opened Nigeria’s first IDP-Support Centre in Lagos, Nigeria.

Sesor is fully funded by voluntary donations from individuals and organisations. It has partnered with leading organisations such as The Grooming Centre, Coca-Cola, Viacom, StanbicIBTC, First City Monument Bank, Open Society Initiative of West Africa, Ice Cream Factory to name but a few. To expand operations and reach more displaced persons, Sesor is launching a campaign called ‘The Angel Campaign’ - a fundraising campaign aiming to get 2,000 people to sign up to donate ₦5,000 every month by December 2023. The funds raised will be used to support Sesor’s operations and provide basic needs, livelihood and educational support. We aim to get at least 1,000 monthly subscribers before the end of the year 2022 and have this number increase to 2,000 monthly subscribers by the end of 2023. People who subscribe to the campaign become Sesor Angels.

The Rationale behind the Angel Campaign

Angels are seen as messengers from God who constantly step in to help human beings in need – or bring relief to those in need and our donors do exactly that – step in to provide relief for displaced women, men and children. Thus, those who subscribe to make regular, monthly donations are lifesavers and constant supporters for the displaced. Their donations go towards supporting operations that relieve and rehabilitate the displaced.

To get 2000 people to subscribe to our monthly giving plan which is a minimum ₦5,000.

Funds raised will fund Sesor’s operations which:

  • Provide food relief and other basics such as hygiene supplies for displaced women and their families;
  • Provide funds to support displaced women’s micro-businesses and enhance their financial literacy;
  • Help provide adequate access to medical care for displaced persons through medical outreaches;
  • Provide educational support to displaced children to enable them return to school
  • Support the psychosocial wellbeing of displaced women through regular wellness activities at our IDP Support Centre.
